The Eurocomm Sailor SC4000 is a marine rated Iridium satellite phone terminal perfectly suited for ‘wet’ environments.
When used in a fixed site it will often be referred to as a Eurocomm unit however it is the exact same unit as the SAILOR SC4000 that you can see listed as a maritime solution. The transceiver and accompanying antennae are extremely robust and made specifically for cold, salt and the harshest open seas conditions.
Consequently this is a very solid choice for rugged environments: indoors and outdoors. For the inside you have a handset with a built-in speakerphone capable of being heard in noisy environments (think gale force winds – not happy hour) while the transceiver is protected in a metal (not plastic) housing. For the outside, the antenna is a solid “brick” with no moving parts, which is constructed with a weather-resistant, glass-enforced resin.
Another advantage is a crew calling feature which is great for controlling costs. A slot in the transceiver readily receives an Iridium prepaid calling card for simple calling home.
For Business Continuity Planning and disaster recovery, this Iridium phone functions an emergency backup during or primary interface in a challenging remote locale all delivered with sea worthy dependability on your land-based installation.
The Eurocomm requires the purchase of the 110/220 power supply for lamnd-based applications. Additional cable may be required depending on your installation.
