For semi-fixed and permanent installations the Satworx Explorer 110 can provide voice and data capabilities over the Inmarsat BGAN network at broadband speed.

The detachable antenna can be placed outside with or without the protective enclosure depending on the severity of the elements and longevity of the location/project.

Phone calls are made over a Bluetooth or ISDN handset (allows SMS as well) while another user may simultaneously download files, check your email and surf the internet.

It is VERY easy to initiate a connection with the Explorer 110. The unit even tells you when you're aligned and connected. Essentially all your team needs to do it power on the unit, connect a laptop or use the Bluetooth interface and move the antennae until you see a signal - it doesn't get any easier.

Without the Enclosure you can run up to 100 meter of RJ45 from the antennae to your habitat, for laptop connectivity. This is also convenient if you need to abandon the site quickly: just grab the antennae and go. However for harsher extremes you would place the antennae in an enclosure which is essentially a dome that protects the Hardware.

Either configuration provides a small staff with a high-speed satellite based internet connection great for supervising disaster management and recovery situations or just as an emergency back-up location. If multiple users are required to be online and multiple individuals simultaneously on the phone then we suggest the Hughes 9210 which support up to 11 users.

This configuration requires the Explorer 110 and the enclosure kit as desired as well as the optional ISDN handset.
