Depending on your field application handheld satellite phones may be accessorized to function in a vehicle or combined with a car kit to provide a versatile if not robust solution on wheels.
Both options described below utilize the Iridium network for complete seamless global coverage and the Satworx 9555.
If you only need voice communications a handheld Iridium 9555 satellite phone coupled with an Iridium vehicle kit enables a subscriber to remain/travel within the safe confines of a vehicle even at speed and then the handheld Iridium 9555 can be released from the vehicle cradle and carried along for walk-and-talk communications.
While there is not always an optimal location on the dashboard to fit the cradle it is a unique solution that enables the best of both worlds. Even if you purchase the more expensive Beam RST980 you will only need to buy 1 satellite phone (transceiver) the 9555 handset. With the fixed installations you may also need a 2nd unit for extra vehicular communications.
We also include a 3rd option which is not so pretty or perhaps convenient but it will get you talking in a vehicle with line of site to the sky.
