portable Internet Office

Your office... To go

All terminals require line of sight with the sky. Most units are rugged enough to function outdoors and/or have detachable antennas so you can maintain your connection from under the safety of a physical structure.
Satworx portable satellite phones offer fully functional office communications for your most remote work and exotic play locations.

Portable satellite phone solutions offer mobile broadband speeds in a lightweight, compact frame that is as easy to carry as it is to operate. Equipment is available for individuals or workgroups offering simultaneous access to data and voice services.

Three Inmarsat BGAN Satellites operating in high geostationary orbit, (35,786km or 22,240 miles) provide service to your Satellite Phone Terminal. Mobile broadband network coverage is available between just north and south of the respective Polar Regions. Inmarsat BGAN is the fastest data service over the largest coverage footprint.

Making calls while you surf the web is standard. The Inmarsat network capacity may be adjusted on-demand for high-bandwidth applications like streaming video with guaranteed data rates; corporate VPN (Virtual Private Network) access supporting IP and "circuit-switched" can be configured upon request.

Portable satellite phone terminal options require absolutely no technical expertise during the setup or operation. The terminal software interface is standard across all phone models for headache-free hardware upgrades or organizational transitions/transfers. In addition, BGAN terminals are exceptionally lightweight and small, despite the array of data services that they offer users.

Note that portable satellite phones, unlike handheld phones, must be stationary to receive a signal. Subscribers can travel as far as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi will allow however the terminal itself must remain stationary. If your application requires "walk-and-talk" voice capability then you will want to review the Handheld Satellite Phone Section. If you need broadband data and need it while moving fast then review the Vehicle, Marine or Aeronautical sections.
