Location tracking is performed with the Short Burst Data (SBD), the most economical mode for satellite transmission, is compliant with US Forest Service Automated Flight Following (AFF) standards. Standard position reporting routines can be controlled either by a local PC or a networked (remote) application server and is ideally suited for real-time Web-based and GIS mapping applications such as safety check-in, medical evacuation, forestry fire fighting AFF logistics, or wherever management of risk and location of critical assets is of primary importance.
