This Bgan satellite phone terminal is slightly heavier then the other single-user model however it is also much more affordable. As with all Bgan terminals, web browsing, email, ftp and audio/video streaming at 64kbps are all available.
This single-user, entry-range, broadband terminal is the most affordable unit in its class putting many of the connectivity features, found in the smaller Explorer 110, into a slightly larger package. Connecting your laptop is as easy as connecting the Ethernet port of your laptop to the Sabre Wideye and for phone calls use a standard phone with RJ-11 or the wireless convenience of a Bluetooth headset.
Essentially while the explorer 110 is the better value in terms of features, and price-point the Wideye is the more affordable consideration. It has the lower price-point eXpo 300 is a great device consider the 110 which is lighter, smaller and adds a USB port. The 110 also has an optional antennae enclosure for long term remote site applications. In short the Thrane 300 is the preferred choice typically for government assignments where they are already familiar with the 500 and 700 models which all use the same software and a similar interface.
